Martin Barker is the inventor and scientific mind of the bunch. His parents are engineers so he was surrounded by people who create buildings and bridges.He is always taking things apart to find out how things work, but forgets how to put them together again! Martin knows so much about how machines work, that he is always telling his friends and parents how to fix things, even if they don't want to hear it. This has given Martin the reputation of being someone who can build very complex things, even robots. His friends come to him when they want something invented or fixed.
Since he is smart with machines and school work, he isn't very smart when it comes to common sense, so sometimes he can get in over his head. Denny Keen can relate to him so they often hang out with the gang and explore the neighborhood together.
